Day Four Zubiri to Pamplona
22km, 5 hours 45 min
We headed off early this morning, and grabbed a quick coffee and croissant on our way out of Zubiri. The path was undulating again today, as Toni would say "a little bit up, a little bit down". Rather than cow bells, we had the tranquil sound of creek rapids today.
We smashed out the first 2/3rds of the walk at a good pace, however by the time we headed into Pamplona we were all feeling a bit sore in the feet and legs. We found a shady spot next to the river to take off our shoes, Graham and Toni dipped their feet in the water.
We are enjoying getting to know people while walking, and seeing familiar faces in different places along the way.
When we arrived in Pamplona we had to wait a few hours before we could check in, so we grabbed some sorbet as it was another very hot day. Mojito flavour was delicious!
There was an issue with our apartment booking, so we were moved to a different apartment which turned out to be a blessing because this one has a washing machine.
After a lovely shower with a proper towel, we headed to the supermarket and got all the goodies. We found 1.25L bottles of Tinto de Verano for $1 euro each! We had dinner at home of Gazpacho, bread, cheeses, cold meats, antipasto and white anchovies. We have a rest day here in Pamplona tomorrow, so we will have a chance to explore this city which is most famous for The Running of the Bulls.
