Day 14 Santovenia to Burgos

25.5km, 6.5hours

Set off in the dark to get back to the Camino in Ages. Slow walk for me due to my hip being dickie.

Ages was a pretty town, with crap coffee. Walked on to Atapuerca which is currently considered to be the birthplace of European humans. Ok coffee stale pastry in Atapuerca.

Headed up the Atapuerca Mountains. Labyrinth at top of mountains, which Toni and I wasted steps on!

It was a windy descent down the other side.

We finally had a decent coffee in Cardenuela Riopico, tortilla was delicious too!

There was many beautiful wild flowers/weeds as we walked today.

We turned off and took the river route into Burgos. Found Dean and spent some time walking together.

We were all pretty shattered on arrival today. After checking in to our Hotel we went to supermarket for some dinner and snack supplies. Cathedral looks amazing can’t wait to explore tomorrow. We hoped to grab a few other things from shops tomorrow but nothing is open here on Sundays!
