I think Toni and I are trying every different method of blister prevention and management possible! Here is a summary:

  1. Shower at night, not in the morning to ensure feet are completely dry

  2. Vaseline to feet then apply socks

  3. Initially we were doing double sock method, a liner and then a wool sock, now that our feet have swollen/flattened we are down to single sock

  4. Injinji toe socks- highly recommend

  5. Stopping at least once in the day and removing shoes and socks to air feet/dry socks

  6. Reapplying Vaseline and swapping to clean dry socks after airing feet

  7. Applying Band-Aid/dressing to any hot spots on toes before blister forms

  8. Applying hiking wool to any hot spots on other parts of feet before any blister forms

This has worked pretty well, however we both have 1 blister in the same spot! Medial big toe.

I have run out of comfeel so have tried compeed dressings (don’t rate), hikers wool attached to hypafix, draining the blister at night, not draining the blister. I also accidentally put a corn removal dressing on before a 29km day! The main ingredient was salicylic acid, it actually seems to have dried the blister out and helped so that's something. The blister is not gone yet, but it's not painful and not getting worse. When we have a rest day next, I am considering re-roofing it.
